pil relaunch

as i gradually prepare for the relaunch of the poison ivy league radio hour (in sha'alah december 6), i thought i would post the songs that i haven't been able to stop listening to these past two weeks. i'm trying to hold out for pil but by then there will be a handful of other songs i'm obsessed with, and there's nothing worse than playing songs on a radio show with which you were previously, but no longer, enamored.

so

voila
wallah
i vot
and this goes out to someone special.

two pictures that have captured my heart

light of my life fire of my loins

how lecherous. josh and i were humbert humbert and lolita for halloween this year. we traveled to bucks county to visit my family and go to jess's annual halloween party that i've been promising to go to and then flaking out on every year. though no one at the party guessed we were HH and Lo, when we told people who we were dressed as, some people knew what we were talking about and thought it was a good costume.

katie and torin drove us to the party, but had not planned costumes, so katie dressed as a moscow gypsy cab driver and torin as some kind of soldier.

to dress like lolita was surprisingly difficult. we spent most of saturday looking for a dress, which we found in the kids section of a discount clothing store near the oxford valley mall. i bought the socks at a children's clothing boutique in newtown, and certainly got some strange looks when i asked for a pair of patent leather mary janes for babies in an adult size 5.

southern wedding

from ashley and john paul's wedding in august:

and

as you can see, it was really quite a lovely time. new york today is rainy and cold, and the days of seersucker dresses and straw hats seem very far away. time to break out the tartan i suppose.
